Dr. Ordonez is a graduate of the Pontifical Catholic University, School of Medicine in Quito, Ecuador. He completed his General Surgery Residency as the Chief Resident at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital System, Ann Arbor, Michigan. His Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy, Endoscopy and Bariatric Surgery was received from the Cleveland Clinic Florida, Weston Florida.
He is the author and coauthor of more than 50 scholarly activities including manuscript publications, video presentations, and abstract publications and presentations. Dr. Ordonez’s research work has been presented at major conferences nationally and internationally including the American College of Surgeons annual meeting, SAGES (Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons), ASMBS (American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery), and IFSO (International Federation for Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Diseases).
Dr. Ordonez has authored and co-authored 5 book chapters for surgery of obesity. His research work is published in several prestigious scientific journals such as Obesity Surgery, Surgical Endoscopy, and Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases.
He, his wife and two children moved from Weston, Florida, where he was practicing medicine as a Staff Surgeon in General, Minimally Invasive, and Bariatric Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Florida.
